Clone gem5 directory
hg clone http://repo.gem5.org/gem5
cd gem5/
Build gem5
scons build/X86/gem5.opt
Test
./build/X86/gem5.opt ./configs/example/se.py -c ./tests/test-progs/hello/bin/x86/linux/hello
or
cd configs
mkdir tutorial
cd tutorial
vim simple.py
cd ../../
